About

Hi!! My name is Mursal, but I go by Mursi on Social Media.

I am an Afghan-American Physician born in Afghanistan but raised in the United States. My first language was Dar, then I learned Urdu, making English my third language. Now, English is my best, and unfortunately, I have a thick accent when speaking in Dari.

I was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and lived there for the first two years of my life. However, due to the rise of the Taliban, my family had to flee to Pakistan, where we lived for about five years. That is how I learned Urdu (which transitioned to Hindi from watching so many Hollywood movies during my childhood)! When I was seven, we immigrated to the US, which I call home. I have been living on the East Coast ever since!

I love travel and began exploring the world during my freshman year of college. Some of the countries I have traveled to include England, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Spain, Scotland, Morocco, and the Dominican Republic. I am still working on my bucket list!

I am officially an attending physician. I completed my basic science education at a Caribbean medical school and did clinical rotations in various hospital systems in New York, Staten Island, Maryland, Florida, Michigan, Illinois, and England!

Growing up, I was always surrounded by love and kindness. However, I internalized many of my feelings, which left me feeling very alone, especially during medical school. During this time, I realized that many of the emotions I experienced were not unique to me. This realization motivated me to create a space to share my experiences, including hardships and obstacles, to remind others that they are not alone in their feelings. It started with creating a YouTube channel after my second year of medical school.

While my career as a physician has always been my priority, my interest in content creation continues to grow as a hobby. I remain motivated to create content as I receive messages from YOU, my virtual friends! Thank you for coming along with me on my journey, and I hope you never feel alone.
